The morning banana diet was founded in Japan and is designed for people who are overweight by 5 to 35 pounds, and could up to as much as 50 pounds. To start off the day all you have to do is eat a banana and drink water, for lunch and dinner you can eat whatever you want!!! Dinner must be eaten by 8pm, 6pm preferred. You can eat fried foods, but you can't have deserts at any of your meals, and all meals should be eaten until you are satisfied, not full. Water should be drunk at all meals, and other drinks are frowned like soda, tea, coffee and even milk. The water should be sipped and not gulped down. They stress eating your banana mindfully and enjoy the taste. Desert is allowed, but only before 3pm. Some sweets are frowned upon like ice cream, donuts and potato chips but can be eaten. Physical Activity is not required and you must go to bed before 12am.
Seems like a lot of rules for a diet, but eating whatever you want to lunch and dinner is definitely a plus to this diet. Bananas contain enzymes that assist in digestion, speeding it up and thus reducing the amount of time the intestines need to work to digest food, resulting in a metabolism more suited to losing weight. These enzymes only exist if the bananas are eaten in their raw state.

I've heard of the grapefruit diet, but not the banana diet. This diet doesn't really seem like much of a lifestyle change. We're also told to eat the most at the beginning of the day, but this diet skimps on breakfast. I also find it interesting how this diet adds the mental component of satisfaction. We're usually told to eat healthy foods based on caloric intake. Interesting artcle!
I have never heard of the banana diet before. It seems like it is a gimmick because of being able to eat whatever you want for the rest of the day and no physical activity needed. I find it interesting that it has the until you feel satisfied not full because it helps people from eating too much. It was a very unique article, good job!
It's wierd how milk is frowned upon as a regular beverage with meals. You think it would be a good drink! Maybe if it was only 2% or lower. I can see how whole milk woul dhave way to much fat to work on a diet. good to know.
This sounds like a very strange diet. And yeah, there are a lot of rules. It sound a little like a portion control diet too since you're not supposed to eat until your full but until you're "satisfied." I don't know how well this diet works but it certainly is unique and interesting.
This is one of the more rediculous diets I have ever heard of. Regardless of how much weight someone has lost on such a diet, the bottom line is that you cannot live your entire life living off of bananas for breakfast. You must have well-rounded meals with actual substance to them such as protein and essential fats. The key to any diet is finding eating patterns that can be adopted for a lifetime, rather than a short period of time in order to drop weight quickly. Also, any diet that specifically states that physical activity is not required in order for success should be disregarded considering physical activity is a neccessity in terms of improving overall health and longevity. But this was a very good, informative article nonetheless.
well it looks like yet another easy diet that might not work but the only way to find out is to try it. i am going to eat a banana in the morning instead of at lunch and see how thinks change for me. thanks for the information good job.
